Gun Permit

You must have a permit to own a gun in Minnesota. Police departments issue gun permits for statewide use. Applicants must apply in person at the police department in the city in which they live. You must present a valid Minnesota driver's license or identification card with a current address. If there is no police department, you must apply at the sheriff's office in the county in which you live.
